How remote sensing/Greenseeker works
The amount and efficiency of light-absorbing pigments can be estimated from light reflectance.
The Greenseeker system measures red and near-infrared reflectance and calculates the Normalized Difference Vegetative Index (NDVI).
NDVI, divided by days from planting or by growing degree days generates a Yield Prediction Index, that can be related to final grain yield for both wheat and corn.
